When did your soldier attend? Jan 07-April 07
Where was he stationed for AIT? Ft Jackson South Carolina
How long was his AIT? AIT was 5 weeks but stayed in same place for 5 weeks of ASI
What was his training like? Normal schedule? Did he train on weekends? Late at night? Classroom or field based? Very easy. Classes from 8 or 9 am till usually 3 pm sometimes earlier. No weekend training though sometimes pulled CQ. All classroom based. Didn't like his AIT, too laid back no structure lots of freedom.
Did you get to see him during AIT? saw him twice (once during AIT the other to bring him home, was 9 hours away so had to drive to see him, soldiers were able to get weekend passes of post
How often were you able to communicate with him? By phone? Email? phone every day
Describe the graduation ceremony. very fast, nothing like BCT graduation.
