21J General Construction Operator

Your Name (as you would like it to appear): Heidi Hiler

Your Soldier's MOS (please include code and description, for example "11B Infantry") 21J

When did your soldier attend? March 2008- April 2008

Where was he stationed for AIT? Fort Leonard Wood, MO

How long was his AIT? 4 Weeks

What was his training like? Normal schedule? Did he train on weekends? Late at night? Classroom or field based? Out of4 weeks, they only trained one Saturday. The training was mainly field based. Course started at 0700 and lasted till about 1630.

Did you get to see him during AIT? I could have seen him during his AIT once he was an Iron Soldier.

How often were you able to communicate with him? By phone? Email? After he received his phone privileges after two weeks, I spoke to him everyday.

Describe the graduation ceremony. The only ceremony they had was one in the classroom. My husband said it took them about 10 minutes. They didn't get to invite anyone to come see the ceremony.

Any other tips or information? I believe a recent add to their training is BFT which took an extra week of their training.
