Rate the PX & Commissary.

The PX is amazing! The events offered are fun and free. The commissary, while big, has ridiculous arrows lining the aisles. If you do not follow them retired persons will yell at you.

Activities on base?

  The outdoor adventure center is fabulous. The Rainbows and Raindrops parent/child center offers free play and activities in a positive and educational environment. The base offers classes for children such as dance, karate and youth sports.

Things to do in area?

  There are tons of things to do in Tacoma, Seattle and Olympia including museums, theater, and malls.

Go to Seattle, see the zoo, shop, camp- a very urban area with all that goes with it/ outdoor activities available

School System?

Horrible! WA is rated 46th in the nation and the schools in the district are poorly funded, poorly staffed and the students suffer. There have been local drug raids and school shootings. Also, the area is rampant with sex offenders. Lakewood, just 5 miles away, is featured on cops.

Any colleges in area?

  Many technical colleges, private 4 year colleges and a few state schools within driving distance

There is always something to do.

Least favorite aspect?

  The rain is almost constant, the area is crime ridden (mall shootings, kidnappings, murders, drugs)
