What is housing like? On-post? (waiting list, conditions, etc.) Off-post? Any areas to stay away from? Average price to rent or buy? My husband applied for on post housing on the internet about thirty day before we got here and we got a two bedroom townhouse ten days after we arrived. They're pretty nice!!

Rate the PX & Commissary. Over rated go to wal-mart its still cheaper. I mean don't get me wrong its nice to have the PX & Commissary on post for those small things you need but your better off to do you shopping else where.

Activities on base? Always something going on.

Things to do in area? There is Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, Many mini shopping malls in Colorado Springs.

Any colleges in area? Several

Favorite aspect of this base/surrounding city? Everything is close by

Least favorite aspect? The thirty mile an hour speed limit on post.

Local websites? (base, chamber, newspaper, schools, etc.)

Any other tips? Bring warm clothes the weather is very unpredictable
