From what I hear, it's cheaper to live off post.  The waiting list isn't bad.....

Things to do in area? 

As with any military town on payday you can't get into any restaurant!  There are loads of things to do...bowling on base, off base you name it and it's there.  Climbing walls, camping...basically, anything. 

School System? 

Don't know

Any colleges in area? 

Seriously take your pick...University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, Pikes Peak Technical...etc.

Jobs? (on post and off)

Favorite aspect of this base/surrounding city? 

Everyone is really really nice here.  No matter where you are on base or in the city it's beautiful...mountains everywhere...just steer clear from Norad.  There are actual signs if you get too close that you will be "shot on sight"!!!

Least favorite aspect? 

No sweet tea or my hubbies favorite fast food (Bojangles)

Any other tips? 

BRING WARM CLOTHES.  The saying in Colorado is, "If you don't like the weather, give it thirty minutes and it will change!"  I've been out there and it will be 30 degrees in the morning, and end up being 90 during the day, then back to 50 by 6 o clock!
